GSF e-learning films

I have been working for some time with GSF to create and develop training content for GSF’s UK operatives to use, to ensure they understand the principles of the tasks involved in their cleaning work. The content needed to be branded, to be simple, clear, and (for people whose first language is not english) easy to understand.

The usual preliminary work of discussing and developing the brief with the client, followed by developing a script and then storyboard was undertaken.
I producing four films to begin: Office Cleaning, Washroom Cleaning, Using a Dust Control Mop, and Mop and Bucket. When the client was happy with these, a further twenty films were commissioned.
Each film needed to be no longer than five minutes and conform to an agreed structure; Opening corporate logo and introduction to the film, then four colour-coded chapters: ‘You Will Need’, ‘For Your Safety’, ‘How to Complete’, and ‘Cleaning Up’. There were multiple film shoots at a number of sites, involving three operatives and a huge amount of kit. There was a photography shoot for all the kit involved. I created 2d graphic animation to highlight and illustrate the important safety concerns with each task.
There was also much feedback and revising, and often refilming, as those higher up the chain of command realised their operatives had not followed strict guidelines in the filming process.
The client, happy with the final results is currently working on a platform in which to present these films to their new operatives internally.

Each film was introduced with a excerpt taken from the film

Occasionally stills from film imagery were used to create graphics to illustrate safety.

Simple Graphics for each item of kit, were accompanied by a voiceover.

Photographs of objects were incorporated as a stylistic feature of the graphics.
