Crowds and Individuals
Every one is one of many. Every individual is a crowd and every crowd can act as one. Crowds come in many forms, from structured and organised institutions to chaotic and volatile gatherings. Often metaphorical parallels can be seen with other crowd-like entities on different scales. The power of the metaphor lies in these comparisons, and this is the source of these drawings. The source of the ideas is a book called "Crowds and Power" by Elias Canetti. Published in 1960 this was the result of 25 years of research into the psychology of crowds.
